The National Network for Mental Health (NNMH) is pleased to announce that our National Program Director has been invited to sit on the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) Community Mental Health and Addiction Advisory Committee.

The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to provide CIHI with input and advice on decisions related to CIHI’s work and long term strategy in the community mental health and addiction sector. The committee will support CIHI in ensuring that its initiatives address the needs of stakeholders for data and information for a range of system management and policy uses.

The Canadian Institute for Health Information is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides essential data and analysis on Canada’s health system and the health of Canadians. CIHI’s work in providing non-partisan information on the performance of the health system is essential to sound decision-making. Government bodies, hospitals, health authorities and professional associations use CIHI’s information to assess the effectiveness of different parts of the health system and plan for the future. CIHI’s work is also of value to researchers, the media and the general public in answering questions about how Canada’s health system functions and performs.

The NNMH looks forward to providing valuable input into the work that CIHI does.
