The National Network for Mental Health (NNMH) hosted a well attended pre-conference symposium in St. Catharines, Ontario on August 27, 2007. Our international guests, consumer leaders from Ireland, Scotland, England, Australia, New Zealand, United States and Canada, did a wonderful job of presenting issues of consumer concern within their home country.

Subsequent to the pre-conference meeting of consumer leaders all international guests gathered at the International Initiative on Mental Health Leadership in Ottawa, Canada for an international gathering August 29 - 31, 2007.

This experience offered the NNMH an excellent opportunity to showcase the wonderful achievements of the organization and consumer community of Canada.

The most significant occurrence of the event was the relationship building that happened amongst consumer leaders who attended. It was a very inspiring experience that will support the growth of a stronger consumer voice internationally.
